PLAYBACK: Media Cymru's Festival of Innovation

Join us from 16–17 September 2026 (with fringe events from 15 September) for PLAYBACK, Media Cymru's Festival of Innovation. A celebration of four years of research and development across Wales's media sector.

Across two days, PLAYBACK brings together the people shaping the future of Welsh media, with panel discussions on equality and diversity, digital content, sustainability, financing and technology, keynote talks from teamLab's Takashi Kudo and Sakurako Naka, and a series of lightning talks exploring AI, 3D printing and wellness.

Expect immersive experiences and interactive installations throughout, alongside screenings including the interactive horror film Dead Reset LIVE. Fringe events at venues such as CULTVR will showcase live R&D demonstrations and give plenty of room for networking and connection.

Whether you're a founder, creative, technologist or simply curious about where Welsh media innovation is headed, PLAYBACK is a chance to see it in action and to be part of the conversation shaping what comes next.
