Celebrate International Women’s Day with Chwarae Teg and Tramshed Tech

Chwarae Teg , Tramshed Tech & Barclays Eagle Labs invite you to celebrate with us on International Women's Day 2022 and #BreakTheBias on the 8th of March 2022.The evening will include a thought-provoking presentation by the CEO of Chwarae Teg, Cerys Furlong, a fun gender-equality quiz, and the opportunity to network with others as we celebrate inspirational women in business and tech.Come and share some delicious food (supplied by The Tidy Kitchen) and cocktails (non-alcoholic option available) as we raise a glass to the inspirational women in tech and business.

Structure of Evening

5:30pm: Arrival and Welcome Drink

6:00pm: Presentation from the CEO of Chwarae Teg - Cerys Furlong.(Cerys will speak on the outcomes of our most recent State of the Nation Report as we measure the progress of the last year towards delivering a gender equal Wales, a History of Gender Inequality and Women’s Movements and Feminism)

6:30pm: Food Served & A Short Quiz to Test Your Knowledge on Gender-Equality

7:00 - 8:00pm: Network and Celebrate

Speaker

Cerys Furlong joined Chwarae Teg as Chief Executive in February 2017 from Learning and Work Institute where she was Director for Wales. Cerys has over ten years experience in the education and skills sectors and is a Governor of ACT Training and Fitzalan High School. Cerys was formerly a County Councillor in Cardiff for six years, and has experience of working for a number of AMs and MPs. Cerys is a member of the Board of Trustees of Chapter Arts Centre. Outside of work, with her business partners Cerys has set up a number of successful businesses and runs a small group of pubs and restaurants in Cardiff.
