Speaker Bio
Huw has a Masters degree in Economics from Cambridge and trained as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG before moving into Finance. In a 30 year career globally in both Investment Banking and later Asset Management at BlackRock he acquired a wealth of trading and operational process experiences Front to Back across Financial Services as well as FinTech spin outs.
He took time out to found a Deep Tech Start Up based in the former Soviet Union giving him first hand experience of the founders journey and pitfalls in building and growing a cutting edge technology business. He is currently CFO of a European Private Equity Group.
Huw is also the Lead Investor for Angel Syndicates in Ynys Môn and North Wales, helping to bridge the gap in the entrepreneurial ecosystem of North Wales through Camau Nesaf. His expertise and leadership continue to drive innovation and growth in the startup sector. When not working, Huw can be found pursuing his passion for technology start-ups and supporting Wales in whatever sport is on.
