Speaker Bios

Ceri Jennings – Managing Director and Founder of Sparkles Cleaning Services

Ceri Jennings, managing director founded Sparkles cleaning services in 2003, then mainly domestic cleaning work, fast forward 20 years! and Sparkles focus is now office & commercial cleaning. Ceri has a passion to do what matters for her customers and the people that make the business thrive, she says they are the heart of the business.

Ceri is an advocate on being able to pay above the real Living wage and offering profit shares, she has a great compassion for those seeking employment, understanding what an individual may need, which comes from my own personal struggle with dyslexia and from having cancer at age 44.

Ceri is proud that her & her team have won The CIPD award 2021 for Best Diversity and Inclusion Initiative & The Business Growth award for PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT 2021, and the Employee of choice award from the Living Wage Foundation 2022, also the Business growth award 2023 & Employer of the year 2023.

Ceri believes that the best award so far is the one that they received as a result of being nominated by the Sparkles employees themselves which is The Champions Award from the Living Wage Foundation.

Terry Mills – Disabled People’s Champion for Welsh Gov

Terry, from Milford Haven, is a strong advocate of supporting disabled people in the workplace. Terry has worked as Chief Executive of Prime Cymru and as an advisor and board member of Disability Wales. He has also held senior level roles in the disability sector at Pembrokeshire People First and Age Cymru Pembrokeshire.

Terry developed severe arthritis and sleep apnoea later in life, experiencing first-hand what it’s like to become a disabled worker. He has extensive knowledge of the social model of disability as well as Equality legislation and how it relates to employment. He has worked with stakeholders in local government, employer member organisations and third sector organisations.
