Tramshed Tech works closely with Big Learning Company and Gower College Swansea to deliver PLA courses across a variety of disciplines, all of which are fully funded by Welsh Government.
What is a PLA?
A Personal Learning Account (PLA) is a free programme (funded by Welsh Government) that allows eligible candidates access to a range of free courses and professional qualifications that develop your skills and help you to progress or change your career.
If you are over 19, in a job earning less than £29,534 a year* and want to take the next step to a great career, a Personal Learning Account could be just what you’re looking for. Check out the Welsh Government's webpage for the full eligibility criteria.

Scrum Master
Scrum is a lightweight, iterative and incremental framework for developing, delivering, and sustaining complex goals and products. It focuses on high agility, collaborative and empowered teams to effectively tackle problems and maintain efficient lines of communication between team members, team leaders, and stakeholders.
The Certified Scrum Master course is an interactive two-day training accredited course. It covers the Scrum principles and practices, team roles, ceremonies, and artifacts involved in a Scrum project, allowing delegates to be successful Scrum Masters or take part actively in a Scrum team. This course will help you to develop your understanding of the holistic Scrum framework, particularly the Scrum Master role, through instructor-led teaching and practical exercises in an intensive, high-effort setting.
Scrum CSPO
The Certified Scrum Product Owner course is an interactive two-day training accredited course. It allows delegates to explore the role of the Scrum Product Owner in detail. It covers the ways in which a Scrum Product Owner will interact with a Scrum team, the responsibilities of the Scrum Product Owner, and their responsibilities to the business and Scrum team. This course is aimed at those likely to be undertaking the Product Owner role in a Scrum project, or those looking to improve their skill as a practicing Product Owner. Delegates will benefit from a balanced blend of theory and practical exercises which promote the importance of the Product Owner role in the Scrum team.
Power BI Desktop
Power BI is an interactive data visualization software product developed by Microsoft with a primary focus on business intelligence. This one-day course will introduce delegates to the BI system, importing and manipulating data and analytics from various sources to create powerful, engaging reports and presentations. The BI system will help you to take control of your company's data and analytics, for both internal monitoring and decision making and in communication with outside agencies. Experience with Microsoft Excel is required.
Cyber Essentials
This session will share insights and practical information and guide you through the fundamentals of staying safe as a computer user. You will learn about common cyber threats, how to keep accounts and credentials safe, and how to avoid common, yet dangerous threats and malicious scams. This session introduces why cyber security is important and how attacks can happen. Hear from Cyber experts about ways you can improve your online security, from managing passwords to backing up your data, and get the chance to ask any questions you have about cyber security.
