The findings of the report pointed towards some of the ways that entrepreneurship can be made more accessible to women, notably increasing local support by identifying relatable role models as well as accessible mentors and networks.
Since the report was published, NatWest has partnered with Getty Images, to create the Female Focus #BeTheRoleModel collection – an inspirational series of profiles and images helping to champion female-led success stories and change the visual perception of female-run businesses.
Among those featured in the collection is our own founder, Louise Harris (Click to view).
Speaking to NatWest about the project, Louise Harris said it “means so much” to be involved in the bank and Getty Images’ Female Focus #BeTheRoleModel initiative “as I think it is fantastic that they are taking the lead in highlighting the great work of women in business.
“We have started to make progress in championing female entrepreneurs in the UK but we have still so much further to go, so every little step is helping more and more women launch their ideas and innovations.
“We also need to do more to highlight the work of women in business from all sectors and industries to help attract more investment into female-founded businesses and provide diverse role models for the next generation of women in business.”
Nominate a female business owner – or yourself, if you are one – to help NatWest and Getty Images create a truly representative library of images that champions successful female entrepreneurship. Find out more details, including how to enter, here.
