We are excited to announce that Tramshed Tech is expanding into an iconic Swansea landmark: Palace Theatre!
The Palace Theatre has played host to performances by the likes of Charlie Chaplin, Sir Anthony Hopkins and Morecombe and Wise. Now we get the opportunity to give it a new lease of life, creating a hub of the tech community in Wales's second city.
Scheduled to open in January 2024, the Palace Theatre will be transformed into a modern, flexible workspace for young and growing businesses. Linking up with our current Cardiff location, this Swansea space will create a network across the South of Wales, and continue to support the development of the tech and creative sectors that have grown rapidly across Wales.
Tramshed Tech co-founder, Louise Harris, had this to say about the new location: "It is so exciting to be working with the city council in Swansea to re-develop this historic landmark building and to be able to provide class-leading digital services for the city".
Swansea Council leader, Rob Stewart, said: "I'm delighted that we're working with Tramshed Tech as the Palace's lead tenant. It's another big step in Swansea's £1bn regeneration story that's bringing investment, jobs and opportunities."
While Cabinet member, Robert Francis-Davies, stated: "Our partnership is exciting because it'll be another opportunity to grow Swansea's tech industry."
Funding for the Palace redevelopment is being sought from the European Regional Development Fund and the Welsh Government, via the Welsh Government's Transforming Towns programme for the project.
